Post-Injury "Return to Play" Training


Return to play — This process may last weeks or even months. This phase is the vital because it helps restore the athlete's confidence in their affected tissue and allows them to work up to 100% capacity again without fear of re-injury. Training from an experienced coach now focuses on specific movement patterns and energy systems that are essential to the athletes sport or activity. Return to play training also serves as a first line of defense against re-injury. In many cases, while working with a high quality performance coach, the injured athlete will return to action stronger and physically more capable than before their injury occurred.
